I would like to personally welcome you to our office. I am looking forward to taking care of all of your eye and vision needs, whether it involves a simple refraction for glasses, or the diagnosis and treatment of a more serious eye condition.

The management of dry eye disease, and glaucoma are my areas of expertise, and I have received numerous grants from pharmaceutical companies to investigate their products. As an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA for many years, I have been involved in the latest therapies and techniques in the field of ophthalmology to better serve your eye care needs.
As the past Chairman of the Section of Ophthalmology at Huntington Memorial Hospital, I feel honored to have been named as one of Pasadena Magazine's "TOP DOCS" from 2009 - 2021. In addition, I was nominated by KCAL-Channel 9 for "Best Ophthalmologist" in the Los Angeles area for 2010 and 2011. I have been selected by my peers as one of the top ophthalmologists in Southern California for 2012 - 2024 in Super Doctors, superdoctors.com, and by Castle Connolly, castleconnolly.com, for 2015 - 2024. Los Angeles Magazine has named me as a "Top Doctor" for 2019 - 2020. I have been honored as one of "The Best Eye Surgeons in America", in Delta Sky magazine, and Southwest, The Magazine, for 2015 - 2020.
I have served on the Board of the Los Angeles Society of Ophthalmology, holding the position of President, 2018-2019.
I have been appointed, and am currently serving, as the Chairman of the Well-Being Committee at Huntington Hospital.
I volunteer my time by providing free eye exams to eligible individuals with Eye Care America, the UCLA Mobile Eye Van, and Care Harbor, which is an annual health fair held in downtown Los Angeles.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and twin 17 year-old daughters, as well as being on the water sailing, or on the mountains skiing.

I am a state certified Optician with both technical and practical experience in frame and lens selection.
Being both personable, and knowledgeable to deliver the best service possible to our patients. I am also bilingual, able to thoroughly explain our many choices in lens upgrades in both English and Spanish.

I'm here to help our patients have the best experience in our office.
On my free time I enjoy hiking, cooking, watching basketball/football, and comedy movies.

Hi! Welcome to Huntington Eye Medical Group! I previously worked here 5 years ago in 2017 while attending college and just recently rejoined the team here at Huntington Eye Medical Group. You will get to know me before seeing Dr. Hong as I am responsible for bringing you in to the exam room, working you up, and running any pre-exam testing necessary. You may also see me up front assisting the Front Office Coordinator with anything she needs help with.

In my spare time I spending time with close friends, reading at least one book a day, and everything crafty.
